Sorry , I didn't mean to alarm you , but today at the post office my
10 year old son was nearly crushed by the alarming amount of mail
Stuffed in my P.O. Box !!!Letters from Businesses , letters from concerned
residents !! The out pouring of support For SaveMarlboro.com's cause has
been phenominal, Your letters speak volumes about the state of this Town
Many of you are seriously in distress just as I am. I am so glad to see you
are not falling for the rhetoric and outright lies being Spread. I have picked out
A letter from the mound that i felt really summed up most of your fears and
comments. Please read on below as respected town parent and resident Roy Wood
Speaks his mind and in my opinion really hits the nail on the head !!
Town Needs Vision
I have great respect for all those that give so much of their time and
effort to serve public office. Much of what is done is thankless and goes
unnoticed, and it's easy to criticize people in the public eye. I try as a
citizen of this town to be as apolitical as possible. I do not necessarily
vote by party lines, but vote for who I think at the time are the best
candidates for the future of our town. I am writing this letter in disgust
in response to a letter to the editor last week from the wife of the
current Town of Marlborough Supervisor about her thoughts on the current
political climate here in Marlborough, her views on the motives of members
of the opposing party, and the great progress she has seen in the last 4
years under Mr. Lanzetta's leadership.
First and foremost, Ms. Lanzetta took the opportunity to question the
motives and morals of the opposing party by labeling them "the good old
boys". Ms. Lanzetta should be writing about the accomplishments of her
two consecutive terms as deputy supervisor under her husband's tenure as
supervisor, not slinging mud at a time when the citizens of this town
desperately need leadership. Nepotism I thought was the definition of
being a part of a "good old boy" network, so it's ironic this would
be a focus of her slander as she was appointed to her role by her closest
relative. That aside, Mr. Lanzetta is a nice guy, and he has had my full
support over the past two elections as I hoped he would bring to this town
the vision of a future that was much needed. However, four years later
there are many local families in a state of crisis. Numerous families
cannot afford their town tax bill, many cannot get the services from the
town that they should expect as taxpayers, and most do not see a vision
from our town supervisor. Most sadly, many families do not see Marlboro as
a place where their kids could ever afford to live.
We can all ask ourselves the questions -How many businesses have we seen
start up in town the past four years to build our commercial tax base? How
is 9W more business ready than it was four years ago? How is government
more open or more fair then it was when Mr. Lanzetta took office? The
answers to these questions speak volumes about the real progress in this
town under the tenure of Mr. Lanzetta. It's easy to say there has been
great progress as Ms. Lanzetta does in her letter last week, but if we look
for proof of the progress that's being declared it's just not there. She
mentions millions of dollars have been "put into play" by Mr. Lanzetta's
networking. Where are those millions and what have they been used for?
How have they helped the desperate taxpayers of this town? Was this being
mentioned by Ms. Lanzetta's letter for political purposes or has there
really been millions that have been attracted to our town that are going to
relieve the pain of our tax payers and thus should be held up as an
accomplishment?
So, as I personally thought about the situation as a parent and concerned
citizen and evaluated where my vote would go in this up-coming election,
it's an easy conclusion that it's best at this time for this town to change
paths. Chris Cerone and his team have communicated their vision for making
the 9W corridor business-ready which would increase our commercial tax
base, they have the back-bone to keep taxes from the exponential growth we
have witnessed, they have already demonstrated a willingness to work closer
with the school district in planning for growth, and they will demonstrate
their tenacity in doing what's right for this town. This tenacity has been
seriously lacking for the past 4 years. This is the path we should be
following, not the path of promised millions in funding from a bankrupt
state, using slander as a political tool, or promising tax reform
discussions as Ms. Lanzetta does in her letter last week. The time for
discussions is over - let's vote for people that will act in our favor!
I would rather have action than promises. I would rather have tenacity
than complacency. To this end vote for Chris Cerone and his team on
Tuesday, November 3!

Great response !!!
Amen!! I could not have articulated my views any better than Mr. Wood did in his letter. I hope that our fellow residents have the desire and willpower to cut through the hype and political rhetoric and ask exactly the questions asked below.....after all, if the answer to the question "is this town better off than it was 4 years ago" is not a clear and unequivocal "YES" then it is clearly time for a change. FR
Get out and vote tuesday
You should do a political flyer with this letter and mail it to everyone in the Town. Chris will win!!!

What a letter... I think Roy Wood has hit the nail on the head.. Time for
action not more studies that eat up taxpayers dollars..Time for people with
a little business sense to bring that knowledge to town. We should also
mention that as part of Chris' team he will appoint Steve Osborn as his
deputy supervisor. Anyone who knows Steve will realize he will be a
significant asset to this town. Steve has made an investment in Marlborough
and his drive and keen business sense will help to attract other
Agra-tourism businesses to Marlborough. PLEASE forward this note to your
distribution it needs to be circulated.
